Collaborative Canvas Project
Have you been waiting to paint many canvases with many people over a few consecutive evenings? Wait no longer!
The 2022 Collaborative Canvas Project is a WTS initiative to come together and paint freely. Between Monday 21st February—Wednesday 23rd February, there will be 15 blank canvases laid out over the WTS gallery floor.
Each night from 5pm we will be hosting free painting workshops available for anyone to attend. All materials and snacks will be provided each evening.
There is no strict theme or painting subject for you to consider. Come March, these canvases will be under bums, on top of deckchairs, beneath the stars.
In 2021 WTS commissioned local carpenter Martin Oostermeyer to design and build a suite of deckchairs for our monthly open-air carpark cinema nights. This year we invite you to paint them, and then sit on them.
If painting freely is restrictive, WTS has compiled a list of things you might like to think about when painting; the movies, sitting, air-con, heatwaves, campfires, lights, cameras (-shyness), actions, Hollywood, showbiz, magic, dogs, cars, trains, silver screens, silver tongues, amphitheatres, amphibians, etc…
The radio request line will be open as always and DJ Free Painting will be accepting requests for original soundtracks as a live score for our workshops. Text in to 0434341814 at anytime to request an OST.
That’s all folks,
WTS
