MEDIA RELEASE
Watch This Space is turning 25!
We’re totally adult now, the training wheels are well and truly off and we’re looking forward to the maturity and self-assuredness of our late twenties and beyond.
WTS has been an integral part of the Mparntwe/Alice Springs community for a quarter of a century now and to celebrate we are presenting a public creative program, Still Alive After 25, featuring experimental projects from local artists ranging from dinners, to “listening sessions”, 48-hour intensive creations, presentations, to claypan-sized installations and performances. To kick off the program and have a big ol’ birthday bash we’re holding a mini market in the day and a dance party in the night to raise funds for a toilet accessible for all!
Our annual lawn sale will be from 10 – 2pm. There will be food, live music, bric-a-brac, clothes, art, etc etc.
Sign up for open mic and enter our birthday cake bake off, sell your wares, sell your kids and get down early with your elbows at the ready.
Get in quick and book a stall for only $25, email wts@wts.org.au or call 8952 1949.
For the past two and a half decades Watch This Space has helped shape contemporary and experimental art in Central Australia and supported exchanges between local, interstate and international artists. An epic achievement. please help us celebrate by cutting shapes on the dance floor, from 6pm – late, with local artists, musicians and DJs. All ages welcome (must be 18+ to purchase from the bar). Tickets at the door: $15 / under 15s $10 / kids under 4 FREE.
WTS is run and led by artists and remains fiercely independent. All funds raised will go towards building a new accessible toilet.
So come on down to our Poo Partycle Party and mini-market on Saturday the 16th of June - you’ll be bloody kicking yourself if you miss out.
