Walk-In Cinema
The Walk-In Cinema was established in 2020 as a free monthly outdoor cinema screening and food event in the WTS carpark on Gap Rd.
Since then, the cinema has existed in different forms. At times, a different member of our local communities selects film(s) to screen each month. At other times, screenings are curated in-house by the WTS committee.
BYO
The Walk-In is an under-resourced cinema and we rely on a BYO hospitality attitude. The audience is expected to bring your own deck chair, swag, thermos, vessel for food, blanket and anything else you might need to keep yourself comfortable.
Please note this is a dry event, there will be no alcohol served or permitted. It is family friendly, dog friendly, it is friendly to all.
Important to know
”Curators” are expected to assist with the following:
- Set-up and pack-down of the cinema (1 hour required either side of start/finish times)
- Introduce the film program and/or invite speaker/s to introduce it
- Provide all program info and promotional material one month prior to screening date
- Keep program compact (total duration of program (inc. Q&A/introductions) should be no longer than 120 minutes)
Curator application:
To curate a screening, please follow this walk-in-cinema application doc as a guide and send back a pdf with responses & information filled in to wts@wts.org.au.
